Organisations 'Sitting on SharePoint Money Mountain', warns Parity

October 2008
Organisations that have bought Microsoft Office SharePoint Server but not deployed it are failing to maximise on their investment and losing out on hundreds of thousands of pounds in increased staff productivity. Parity is warning that at a time of looming recession, it’s not an investment they can afford to waste. The business and IT services company believes that SharePoint can quickly improve an organisation’s bottom line, revitalising it by helping people to manage their data and work together more effectively.
In response, Parity has launched ‘QuickStart,’ designed to accelerate SharePoint installations and provide a roadmap for the business benefits it can deliver. QuickStart involves sending in a SharePoint ‘SWAT team’ to help organisations understand what can be achieved and quickly. As well as provide planning and governance, a SharePoint prototype is created.
"Even though it’s been available for some time, there’s still widespread misunderstanding about how SharePoint works," said Simon Wayne, managing director for Parity Solutions. "It’s not like the Office suite, which is basically ‘plug and play’. To take full advantage of its toolset, you need a more sophisticated installation. SharePoint provides the building blocks for gaining control over your unstructured data, moving towards effective enterprise content management. Once it’s up-and-running, it can improve workforce productivity exponentially. Organisations need to start realising the benefits and stop wasting their investment."
Parity has already helped five organisation realise the benefits of SharePoint through the journey initiated by QuickStart.
